A noisy kindness

Liked: The hotel is located in a characteristic street, full of life and plenty of all you may need, from some supermarkets, to many pubs, restaurants, bakeries and greengrocers. Staff is very very kind and any request has been satisfied. Room and bathroom, a bit tiny (as all the rooms in Paris) have been cleaned every day, and the bed has been made every day as well. It is near bus stop of the line 38, 58, 59, N63 andthe metro of Denfert-Rochereau (line 4) on one side, and Gaité (line 13) on the other one, and the RER station of line B. The street is quite and silent during the night.
Disliked: The shower box is very tiny, and you will not be abe to enter in it if you are second and third degree obese. The hotel hase to structures. The main one, a building as a normal hotel, and a long corridor at ground level without the roof (see picture), that has the rooms on both its sides. I was in room 26. In such room there were no possibility to have privacy and keep open the window, because there is no bars on the windows, so the windows have been kept closed during the day. There is no air conditioning, but a fan is provided as regular appliance. The worst thing is that the walls of the room, as wellas the roof, are very very thin, so you may hear other host talking and walking and be disturbed by them when they wake up early in the morning. You can hear even the noise of the WC and the shower.

Very poor

Disliked: The hotel was in a relatively good area but was far away from the train (took us half and hour to walk from the train to the hotel with our luggage’s). The room was very small, had a view of the wall and was not so clean. On top of this, the room was incredibly hot, and there was no AC. The fan that was given was broken, so we had to get a small, dirty face fan that barely worked. In addition to this, we couldn’t open the windows because people were smoking outside our room, in the small balcony of the hotel. We stayed for one night, and needless to say, we weren’t able to sleep at all.

Disliked: No fridge, city tax not stated in the checkout=bad surprise at paying

Liked: Excellent area, very safe.
Disliked: Needs a fan for the hot weather. Hard to sleep.

Disappointing

Liked: The staff were friendly
Disliked: There was no shower curtain/glass as the pictures indicated, therefore the whole bathroom was covered in water after taking a shower. The light was poor. No hair-dryer(which was promised in the facilities of the hotel). Thin walls.

Pleasant

Super!

Liked: Great value hotel on a lovely street. Surrounded by shops selling trinkets, wine, fresh produce (and amazing cakes). Loads of places to eat. Hotel was basic but clean and the staff were great. There's a lift! Room was spacious by Paris standards. Great staff.

Superb

Liked: The place is well located and very well looked after. You can feel it is cared for. The staff is super super nice.
Disliked: Quite some noise in the building. Normal noises, but Parisian buildings have thin walls and floorboards. Every time someone went up the lift, banged a wall, took the stairs etc I though my door would be burst opened. Maybe just a sturdier lock would help to feel at peace.
