The Spotlight on Timber House Resort

Charming, Rustic Escape Just Minutes from the Music

Timber House Resort is a cozy, lodge-style retreat tucked away in the peaceful town of Brighton, Ontario. Surrounded by nature and just 10 miles from Empire Theater and 12 miles from the National Air Force Museum, this serene getaway offers the perfect blend of comfort, character, and convenience for music lovers. With a private beach, outdoor pool, and beautifully landscaped gardens, it’s a relaxing base to recharge before or after a big show.

Why Concert-goers love it

Timber House Resort is a favorite among concert-goers who want to escape the noise after the encore. Its location puts you just a short drive from well-known venues like Empire Theater and Canadian Forces Base Trenton. Quiet evenings, free WiFi, and a shared lounge area create a low-key atmosphere to wind down. Flexible check-in from 13:00 means you can settle in early, while the relaxed vibe and natural surroundings make it easy to recover after a late night.

Who this Hotel is great for

- Groups of friends looking for a scenic weekend getaway with music
- Solo travelers catching a once-in-a-lifetime performance
- Couples planning a romantic concert weekend
- Fans needing a peaceful post-show retreat
- Budget-conscious music lovers who want value without sacrificing comfort

Food and Drink Options

While Timber House Resort doesn't offer on-site dining, its central location in Brighton means you're never far from local eateries. There are several charming cafes and restaurants within a short drive. Guests appreciate the flexibility to bring in their own snacks or use the shared lounge space after a night out. Breakfast options are available nearby, perfect for a late-morning bite after a concert-filled evening.

Nightlife Options

Though this resort is more about nature than nightlife, you're close enough to Brighton's downtown and Trenton’s bar scene for a pre-show drink or post-concert nightcap. If you're looking to keep things low-key, the resort’s peaceful ambiance and outdoor terrace offer a laid-back way to end the night under the stars.

What People Say

Guests love the tranquil setting, friendly staff, and how the resort feels like a home away from home. Many mention the comfortable rooms, clean facilities, and the added bonus of a private beach and pool. Travelers appreciate the easy access to nearby venues while still feeling tucked away from the crowds.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests note that there’s no on-site restaurant or bar, so it’s best to plan ahead for meals. Also, because this is a more nature-focused lodge, it may not suit those looking for a bustling nightlife scene or luxury hotel amenities. That said, the rustic charm and comfort more than make up for it.

The Bottom Line

A peaceful, nature-inspired retreat just a short drive from Brighton's music venues—ideal for concert-goers who want to unwind in comfort after the show.

Great Relaxing Quick Getaway

Liked: The Timber House Resort is a great getaway from Toronto. The check in process was seamless with a key being left at the front desk. It was very convenient to have a shared large kitchen with fridge to store chilled items, make coffee etc. Our queen room was clean, spacious and the bed was comfortable. The lake was a short walk away but for real beaching, Presquille Provincial Park with huge beach is perfect, also Presquille is great to bike around, we brought our bikes. Made to order breakfast was delicious and homemade jams were very tasty. We bought some for ourselves and gifts. We look forward to our next visit.

Wonderful out of the way...

Liked: This guest house provides a unique lodging experience and is a tremendous value. It's great for couples. The rooms are private but there are lots of common areas for lounging or preparing snacks when the mood arises. The interior architecture and room design is rustic but modern. Very clean and comfortable with a very accommodating staff. The made to order breakfasts are a treat! Just steps from Lake Ontario (but no public access).
Disliked: TV reception is antenna only or Apple TV if you have your own account. Internet is much better.

This place isn’t just disappointing;...

Liked: Nothing went well. It honestly feels like the set of a horror movie—abandoned, eerie, and nothing like the pics and what was promised. Everything advertised is a complete misrepresentation, bordering on outright fraud.
Disliked: First of all, the location is remote and unsettling, surrounded by RVs and seemingly deserted. The "pool" is not a pool at all—more like a murky pond you'd expect to find behind an old farmhouse. The entire property is filthy, sketchy, and gives off major creepy vibes. There is no private beach; it's actually a public neighbourhood beach that's a 15–20 minute walk away. So if you're hoping for a peaceful beachside retreat, think again. There’s also no staff on site, and no one answers the provided contact number. As for parking? Forget it—it doesn’t exist.

Beautiful bedrooms, building and location

Liked: Lovely big rooms, friendly reception with a number to call with any queries. Beautiful quiet location which will be amazing in the summer. Outdoor pool but April is too cold for a dip. They also sell jams, chutneys, hot chocolate bombs and plants. Didn’t sample the breakfast unfortunately as it is served after 8.30am and I had to leave at 7am for work.
