Good

Liked: Location was lovely, welcoming staff on arrival and building very nice. The room was dated but clean and very practical, especially as we had a dog with us. Great patio facilities for a dog friendly room/hotel.Breakfast was lovely in the morning and waiting staff in the morning very helpful.
Disliked: Felt the hotel needs a little updating. Only real negatives were; Felt bar staff (young lady) didn't seem that interested in serving drinks in the evening, not very personable, also felt the outside space needed a bit more to be a beer garden and lacked atmosphere.

Excellent breakfast but small disappointing...

Liked: Location was good for what we needed. Breakfast and breakfast staff was excellent.
Disliked: Our room was extremely disappointing. It was up two steep flights of stairs - good job we weren’t trying to take up cases for longer than a one night stay. Carpets and decor in need of freshening. The room was just big enough for a chair and double bed with small dressing table and coffee making facilities built into the eves. A fan on the dressing table was needed for air as it was hot and stuffy, being so small. The bathroom was just big enough to squeeze into and the sink had a large and grubby crack. From site photographs I was expecting a much nicer room.

A one night stopover, so...

Liked: It was a very clean hotel, the breakfast was excellent, with lots of choice
Disliked: The pillows in our room spoiled our stay, they were flat and very uncomfortable. However the room was spotless and otherwise comfortable
