Liked: Thornton Lodge far exceeded our expectations--and we had high one coming in. Vanessa (the owner) could not have been more welcoming, accommodating, helpful in planning, and wonderful cook. The room was even more lovely than the pictures showed (we were in 4). Homemade pastries greeted us when we arrived; the bathroom tub was phenomenal; breakfast (included) was superb and also homemade. Vanessa even got us in at the last minute to a local pub for dinner (we didn't know that most pubs stop serving at 8pm (20:00pm). Thank you! It was a wonderful stay!

Liked: Thornton Lodge is a fantastic place to stay..we feel very privileged to have been able to stay in such a fabulous place. The room was amazing, so comfortable and luxurious. The breakfast was exceptional and kept us full all day. But the best part of our stay was meeting Vanessa, the owner and host. Vanessa was so nice and bubbly and was a font of knowledge of the area. She went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect, she also made us homemade scones with jam and cream, what a lovely touch. We would highly recommend Thornton Lodge to anyone, and we will certainly stay here again..Vicki and Gary..xx

Liked: Vanessa was a wonderful host, she made the most amazing breakfasts and was very informative about the area and things to see. We had dinner at a local Pub recommended by Vanessa The Wheatsheaf and that was exceptional but you do need to book ahead very busy. Do very much hope to revisit Thornton Lodge.

Liked: Vanessa was very accommodating. Provided Earl Grey tea in room, as requested. Gave both of us alternatives for breakfast choice e.g uncooked oats with woodland fruits and alternative sausage. fresh milk provided for in room facilities stored in mini fridge. Provided valuable information before and during visit re suitable places to eat and interesting places/sights to visit. Nothing was too much for her.
Disliked: Nothing to dislike
