The Zen Hotel Palo Alto

Would consider returning, but only...

Liked: The location was fine, easy access to Palo Alto stores and cafes.
Disliked: The breakfast was okay, but the potatoes seemed like they'd been in a warmer for way too long.Also, no fruit available.When we first arrived, and every time we came back to the room, there was a strong odor, like disinfectant, that made it very unpleasant.

Disliked: It was a slight upgrade from roadside motel. The rooms were uncomfortable and small with uncomfortable mattresses and cheep bedding. The bathrooms had rust and water damage. The worst was the smell.

A good place if you...

Liked: The Hotel is in a very central and safe location. We travelled at peak time, so naturally, we paid more. The hotel has a vast parking area, and the big rooms are the best. The AC and Wi-Fi worked well. The beds were very comfortable. There was a fridge and a microwave in the room. The staff is cooperative. The lobby and breakfast are average.
Disliked: You feel like staying at the roadside motel despite paying a higher price. Knowing Palo Alto, we understand that.
