Disliked: My wife and l found it distracting that our bedroom had a green light on ceiling which was obviously to do with the smoke detector.Given it has to be operational to do its job nevertheless it made for a frustrating sleep overnight.

Great place to stay, except...

Liked: The location is great, right in the centre of town. The people who work there are nice, capable and very friendly. The room we stayed in (Octagonal) is large, clean, recently renovated and exceedingly comfortable (before you turn out the light). The room was very quiet, which is surprising given the hotel's location in the heart of town and the fact that it's a pub. The pub meals were great too.
Disliked: On the ceiling of the room, was a green light, that was not really noticeable when the lights were turned on or during daytime, but at bed time when the lights were out, it was really bright and cast a green glow on the entire room. It was very off-putting and spoiled our favourable impression of the hotel. If bright light at night doesn't worry you, then this won't be an issue, but if you like a dark room, it will be.

Liked: Well renovated property with great restaurant onsite. Comfortable bed and good bathroom. Well located in the centre of town. Easy parking on the street in front of the property.
