Beautiful building and grounds, lovely...
Disliked: The service in the bar and restaurant for breakfasts was quite slow. Ambience in the bar wasn't great, very dark, no soft music, no table service.

Another wonderful visit
Liked: Stayed for the 3rd time (we got married here). Room was large, comfy bed, gorgeous free standing bath. Beautiful views in the hotel grounds. Food in the Fleur De Lys is top notch (the triple cooked chips are amazing!) This place will always have a special place in our hearts so I'm sure we'll keep coming back.

Liked: Ambience of hotel, size of room, decor of room, shower gel provided. The breakfast and fast service on a Sunday.
Disliked: They couldn't squeeze me in for dinner as fully booked and I hadn't booked in advance as not sure what plans I had that evening. It was a Saturday and on Sunday I learnt on radio they had a wedding on Saturday.

Maybe or maybe not
Liked: Lovely setting, area and rooms
Disliked: The dinner was not up to scratch. Toughest steak I ever ate, or at least tried to eat. Another diner at table had the same issue. Fish was also not cooked.

Definitely Could Do Better!
Liked: The gardens are lovely. My sandwich was fine.
Disliked: There were very few guests and my room was in an outbuilding on the ground floor. It was one of the hottest days of the year and I couldn't leave the window open as it was not secure. Then I discovered that the window didn't shut properly. Needs maintenance. The staff were fairly dis-interested in the guests - and you had to keep looking for them if you needed something. People were standing waiting to check in with no one on the desk. They then came and got bar staff to find someone which meant the bar was left unstaffed. The wifi in the bar was excellent. I couldn't get any wifi in my room.Breakfast was dreadful - I think the bacon had been cooked the night before and then microwaved. The egg was like a rubber bullet. There were small pots of honey and jam, but marmalade was left in a huge bowl.. But there was no pots to decant it in to. The juice was served, you could not serve yourself. No water left out. I asked for strong tea - one teabag in a big pot! It was weak as water. There was no tooth mug in the bathroom - not even a plastic one, no shower cap. It could all have been so much better but it really was poor. It's on a site with an old people's home - that looked jollier!
