Quirky hotel and pub. Ideal...

Liked: Near train station. Nice bar area. Cosy pub. Nice breakfast.
Disliked: Separate bathroom. No milk or biscuits for drinks in room as advertised.

Totally unsatisfactory - don't believe...

Liked: Nothing, as we didn't actually stay here.
Disliked: Please don't even think about booking a room here and if you do, don't pay in advance! I booked a Superior double room online, not knowing the area but we were going to a funeral and had to find somewhere nearby. When we arrived, I should have been warned by the surrounding area which was quite rough and noisy. We were shown the room which I had booked; it was in no way "Superior" in that it was small and the bed almost filled it. The barman who briefly showed us the room, also stressed several times that we MUST lock the outer door at all times which made us feel unsafe. There was no ensuite - which it says double rooms have in the blurb on Booking.com. There are no pictures online of the rooms or bathrooms. When we found the "Private Bathroom" after trying keys in various doors on the grubby dark landing, it was very hard to unlock it and it was some distance from our room. This was unsuitable for my husband who needs the toilet in the night for medical reasons, so we went back to the bar and told the barman that we couldn't stay there. The barman told us to phone the manager. Ann, who after several calls from us promised to phone back and has since ignored all our attempts at communication. We haven't had any satisfactory response or recompense from the hotel or Booking.com. Don't be taken in by the misleading reviews and ratings which may apply to the pub but certainly don't apply to the rooms and facilities.

Disappointing

Liked: Near the amenities and good location
Disliked: the room had moulds and smelling of dumbness. Mould on the wall and skirt board. The smell made me have an uncomfortable sleep the whole night and was anxious about how it would affect me

An enjoyable stay but was...

Liked: The staff were very helpful and the breakfasts were great. The room was clean but a little tired.
Disliked: All rooms at the Windsor Castle Inn are flagged as having a private bathroom. Our superior double room had a bathroom which for our sole use but was across the main corridor from our room, we did not expect this and we seemed to be forever navigating the corridor and locking and unlocking the bathroom door. I was surprised to work out that two of the three rooms were like this and the third room had a normal en-suite bathroom. We would have prefered a normal en-suite.The hotel needs to do something about its Booking.com listing details.
