Liked: Tastefully decorated, clean with good facilities, nice and helpful staff. Close to Victoria station and tube.
Disliked: Can’t fault it.

Liked: Room was clean and homely.Breakfast was quite good.Location was good and we could walk to attractions and public transport quite easily.
Disliked: Room was extremely small with little space to move around in. Rooms don't have a fridge to keep drinks in which was a real problem in the 30+ degree C days we had while in London.

Friendly, convenient, excellent breakfast.

Liked: All the staff were wonderfully friendly. The breakfast is given to everybody, and was quite an experience, with table service and a welcoming family atmosphere. My room, though a very small single room in the basement, was nevertheless comfortable and everything was very very clean. I would like their cleaners to come to my house.

Disappointing

Liked: The street the hotel is located on was quiet.
Disliked: This hotel should not be listed as 4 stars. I expected my room to be small and the floors to creak; it is all part of the charm. What disappointed me, however, was that my mattress was worn out and saggy, the pillows were made of a hard foam that made finding a comfortable sleeping position difficult, the linens were basic and not changed throughout my stay, the furniture looked like it came out of a dorm room from the 90's, the walls were scuffed, patched, and not painted over well, the TV cords just hung out of the wall...All in all the appearance and comfort of the room was shabby. The breakfast that gets such good reviews was also not as I expected. Half of the menu is the complimentary breakfast (mostly eggs and toast), the the other half must be paid for. They have signs in the elevator telling you that if you would book directly next time, you will get all the breakfast options complimentary. I didn't take anything from the free section my entire stay, yet had to pay for the pancakes at the end. The staff at the reception were cold and uninterested. The neighborhood is residential and there is little in the way of restaurants nearby. The walk to the Victoria underground is around 15 minutes, so not insubstantial when you will likely leave the area for almost everything including meals.

Great location, fantastic stay.

Liked: Very convenient location to Victoria Coach Station. Great welcome from Sylvia. Checked in quickly and left our bags and left them for the day. We were given a complimentary upgrade and our room was beautifully decorated and clean. Air con in the rooms was a must as it was a very hot weekend. We had a great sleep and fantastic breakfast. You just get a little extra touch from a team who are great at hospitality. We’ll definitely stay again next time we’re in London.
Disliked: Absolutely nothing.

Great independent hotel

Liked: Good rooms with decent bathroom (great towels!), all very clean - a/c was brilliant as was breakfast. Would definitely recommend and go back ourselves.
Disliked: Good 15 minute walk from Victoria Station
