DID NOT MEET EXPECTATIONS

Liked: This was a return trip to this property, which we usually enjoy very much. The rooms are spacious and well appointed, and the bathrooms are beautifully designed.
Disliked: We expected to be able to get into our room by 3 PM, but we’re not able to get in to the room until just after 5 PM. I immediately wrote an email to the hotel management, and now more than 24 hours later have not received a response. When we went downstairs to the restaurant for dinner, the two hostesses were away from the desk, and as they walked up to the desk, they were in a conversation. When they saw us, they stared at us blankly, and finally asked, can I help you? Why else would we be standing there except that we wanted to be seated in the restaurant? We told them that we were hotel guests, but did not have a reservation, so although the restaurant was only perhaps 10% filled, they insisted that our only options were to sit at the community table in the bar, or at the bar, or outside. We did choose to sit outside, but they did fail to tell the wait person. When we left the restaurant, we noticed that it was not even half full. This was a discouraging experience, to say the least.

The best stay of our...

Liked: Currently touring the East side of America from the UK. So far this has been the best accommodation we have stayed in. Room was spacious and clean. Staff were attentive and friendly. We particularly enjoyed spending time at the hotel bar and casual conversation with Gregg. He made us feel very welcome. We stayed at The Barn for breakfast and dinner and had a fabulous meal every time. We would love to stay again in the future.
Disliked: Nothing

Liked: Room is large, we'll appointed, comfortable.
Disliked: The Barn Restaurant. Food is mediocre at best. Seating looks great, but too "lounge-y" too enjoy dinner. Freezing cold AC. But very good service.

Lovely as usual.

Liked: We have dear friends in Williamstown and we always stay here when we visit because it’s lovely.
Disliked: It just keeps getting more and more expensive. Also, the parking lot doesn’t appear to be adequate. We had a guest for breakfast on Saturday and the brunch menu was the only thing available with no normal things like omelettes available.
