Whether you're here for a legendary performance or a weekend of live music, The Whitney blends character with convenience.

Why Concert-goers love it

Staying at The Whitney Hotel puts you in the center of the action. Major music venues like the Smoothie King Center and Saenger Theatre are a short ride away, and with the hotel offering taxi service, getting to and from a late-night show is a breeze. After the encore, you can count on a peaceful night’s sleep thanks to the hotel’s non-smoking policy and quiet atmosphere. The express check-in/out and helpful concierge service make your concert night feel seamless.

Who this Hotel is great for

Food and Drink Options

Start your day—or recover from a late night—with a scrumptious on-site breakfast. While the hotel doesn’t currently offer 24/7 room service or an in-house restaurant for dinner, its central location means you’re within walking distance to dozens of New Orleans’ best eateries, from casual bites to iconic Creole cuisine.

Nightlife Options

Though The Whitney Hotel doesn’t host live music itself, you’re never far from the city’s legendary nightlife. Walk to nearby bars and lounges in the Warehouse District or hop a quick ride to Frenchmen Street for jazz, funk, and late-night grooves. If you prefer something low-key, the hotel’s welcoming lobby is the perfect spot to decompress.

What People Say

Guests rave about the hotel’s friendly staff, historic charm, and clean, spacious rooms. Many describe it as a “hidden gem” for travelers who want to be close to the action without the noise. The location and ease of access to attractions and venues is a consistent highlight across reviews.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests mention that the hotel could benefit from a few modern updates in room decor, and while there’s no on-site bar or restaurant open late, the nearby options more than make up for it. Parking is available but not complimentary, so plan accordingly if you're driving in.

The Bottom Line

The Whitney Hotel is a stylish, quiet, and well-located home base for concert-goers ready to explore the sounds of New Orleans without sacrificing comfort or charm.

Liked: The location, easy to get to local attractions and central to Mardi Gras events. The staff were pleasant, courteous and knowledgeable about the area. Unique features of the hotel - ex bank, safe is a stand out feature. Ice machine was good, used frequently.
Disliked: Was quite noisy. could hear cars existing the car park. Room service inconsistent, toiletries left in the room were varied.

Someone else's dirty underwear still...

Liked: Location
Disliked: When I arrived after a long trip, I was shocked to find someone else's dirty underwear IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROOM when I first entered it. I went to the reception and asked for another room, but they didn't seem that shocked about it at all. The new room they gave me was okay, but then the next day when I came back to my room, I found the door of my room open. I guess housekeeping had left it open. Luckily, everything was still there, but (especially as a woman travelling alone) it's not a nice feeling that anyone could have been inside your room. Also, the hotel makes several safety recommendations (for example to always lock your door, also when you're inside, to check ID if someone claims to be from the hotel etc), but that seems a bit ironic if housekeeping just leaves the door open. So, I went to the reception, and again, they didn't seem that shocked about it at all. It's not just the fact that those things happened that makes me angry, but also they way the receptionists handled it and made me feel like I was just an annoying guest. I contacted Booking.com, and they handled it very well (thank you, Booking.com!). So I would definitely not recommend to stay here.
