Friendly staff and lots of...

Liked: The staff were incredibly helpful and the food was great. The hotel is beautiful with a Bar, outdoor area and a good location.
Disliked: Staying there on a hot day/evening was not good as there was no air-con.

Good Value, Nice Pub Accommodation

Liked: Liked the fact that the room was annexed at the back of the main property which made it extremely handy for accessing it from the car park. The room/bathroom was very clean. King size bed was appreciated. The outside space had tables and chairs available to enjoy drinks from the bar in good weather. The gentleman on reception and serving in the bar was very helpful and friendly.
Disliked: The sound proofing between this and the adjoining room wasn't very effective. The plumbing needs attention as the toilet didn't flush properly and the shower drain was extremely slow. Car parking was very limited but we were able to find space however, we were chastised for moving a bollard (which we hadn't) and asked to move the vehicle (which we were more than happy to). Breakfast was not available before 9am so we weren't able to eat at the property as we were travelling for business and needed to be away.

Disappointing

Liked: It close to town live bands on Friday was good in the bar down by the river lovely Indian restaurant pundits
Disliked: Thr bed was so uncomfortable was rock hard mattress I had to sleep on settee for 2 night sorry guy won't be coming back again

Very good

Rooms need some updating for...

Liked: Room was clean and neat.
Disliked: It was extremely hot and so we asked for a fan. Our room was upstairs with hot western sun coming in. If we closed the drapes to keep it cooler, we had no fresh air. The fan was the loudest rickety fan. When my husband went to the front desk with it to ask to exchange it, no one was there for the night. So, we passed a pretty miserable night. They need new fans or the kind of portable air conditioners that you can put ice in. The cover was a duvet meant for cold weather. We needed just a top sheet, had to pull the duvet out of its cover.. When we turned on the fan in the bathroom it blew out hot air. It was very hot in that room.

A really comfortable couple of...

Liked: Excellent dinner on both nights. The pies particularly are superb. Friendly owner and staff. went out of their way to help.
Disliked: Nothing really. The room was a bit tired but the owner volunteered that. It was perfectly fine though.
