A Place to Come Back...

Liked: We arrived well after midnight. The phone number on the door put us through to the friendly night porter who appeared in no time to let us in. The Suitcase Reception Desk was great. The reception area was clean and welcoming, the same goes for our room. The bed was very comfortable and we liked the idea of the radio, local book and hot chocolate. The shower is good but beware of the delayed temperature change.Parking was good at the back of the hotel and there is a fantastic forecourt where you sit for a coffee if you wish.We were only there for one night but would definately stay again for longer.
Disliked: This is a listed building so there is no lift. We only had a backback so no problem to the 3rd floor. I would recommend that if you have a lot of lugguage or struggle with stairs, that you let the good staff on recpetion know before you arrive, so they may be able to accommodate you on the lower floors or have help available.

Disliked: Trying to find the car park, different postcode to the hotel which didnt come up on the sat nav ! Had to ask directios round a very complicated one way system.Unfortunatley, no fault of the hotel there was an extemely noisy pub adjacent to the hotel playing very loud music, and during the early hours of the morning the police had to intervene with some sort of altercation outside the hotel which seemed to go on for quite some time.

A traditional hotel with super-friendly...

Liked: Friendliness of staff (especially Ellie on Reception), location, air con in our suite (which we were upgraded to!)
Disliked: Only one member of staff at breakfast is understandable but meant it wasn't quite as good as it could have been and tables were left uncleared and some equipment wasn't clean.

Disappointing

Liked: The place is really nice and great location, good food and staff were very friendly
Disliked: The nightclub round the corner playing music all night. Windows were literally shaking all night. You can't even hear yourself think. This was meant to be a nice relaxing night away for our anniversary. Checked the reviews in advance but it didn't show anything negative unless you specifically search for it!

Superb

Liked: Lovely receptionist, very helpful and easy storage for our bicycles.
Disliked: There’s no aircon and was quite warm in the room. The fan helped and needed the windows open.

Nice room and exerlant food

Liked: First time we have taken our dog with us. Rio was treat like a king. And it was a different experience. Thanks to all the staff making Rio (our dog) feel welcome. The food was excellent
