Good place to stay and...

Liked: it is not as noisy as you would expect (nearby train station, which was a nice surprise and you shouldn't be woken by the trains. It's also right next to a train station. The building where most stay appears to be a separate building to the pub. Access to the pub is easy. Parking was easy and close to the rooms. The bed was nice and comfortable. As far as I could tell, it offers good value for money.
Disliked: The pub is often busy and noisy up until really late, this is naturally great for the pub but not so great for those staying overnight, especially on hot nights when there's only one window to open. There's no air-conditioning and no fan. There is a 'desk' supplied but if you're anything like me it might be tough to get your legs under. I'm not sure if it was my particular room but the window is quite low and that makes it easy for anyone in the staff car park to see basically right into the room and if you have the curtains open to try and get the room cool, best not to be in a state of undress. The toilet works but it's not great at flushing, it's a water saving toilet might want to bear that in mind. The shower base looks like it's seen better days. I think there's supposed to be an extractor fan for the bathroom but I didn't hear it. Also, I didn't bother raising it (I had other issues), but some lights didn't work, one above the bed itself and the bathroom mirror light didn't work either. The walls are also quite thin, so if other people staying are ahem enjoying themselves, it's clearly audible.

Friendly and homely. Excellent food.

Liked: Friendly staff. Excellent food.
Disliked: Mattresses on beds are tired. TV system in rooms, very outdates. Old Sky boxes don't work, not even BBC / ITV channels!
