Liked: Location, staff atmosphere
Disliked: Maybe check out could be 30 mins later but not really an issue

Perfect to lay your head...

Liked: Location. Bed was so comfortable. Room facilities.
Disliked: Stairs, but does add to the quaintness.

An unusual establishment that gave...

Liked: Breakfast was fine, delivered in a bag outside the room door. Instant coffee only but that's what we were expecting. Very comfortable second-floor room, friendly staff who kindly carried our bags upstairs. Nice wood stove and an amazing selection of whiskies in the adjacent pub (with cheerful bar person).
Disliked: In the room it would have been good to have e.g. some real coffee with a cafetiere.

Exceptional

Liked: Perfect location. Warm welcome when we arrived. The room was cosy and had everything we needed. A breakfast goodie bag was left outside door in the morning. Lovely touch

Hidden gem

Liked: Lovely quiet area, comfy clean room
Disliked: Parking was tricky but staff were so helpful

Convenient location, nice bar, but...

Liked: Booked at the last minute due to a ferry cancellation. Very friendly staff who gave great advice about how I could get my weekend back on track, and good conversation in the bar. The bar is very impressive on the whisky front, as is the staff's knowledge as you'd expect. And a useful central location.
Disliked: Not the hotel's fault but parking in Oban is understandably quite heavily regulated so you're paying if it's not between 6pm and 9am. And the room I had was very small indeed- very little space to move about the bed or in the bathroom, but it didn't matter too much as I was only in it for a short night. Given there are no other inclusives (e.g. breakfast) paying over £100 for the night did seem rather expensive.

A real find in Oban...

Liked: It was tastefully decorated to a high standard. The room was spotlessly clean. Coffee & tea supplies and toiletries were generous. The linen was sparkling white cotton, and the towels were large and fluffy . The host without being asked kindly showed me around the whisky bar which had over 400 whiskies . The hotel is a hop and a skip from facilities including transport options and ferry’s.The hotel was hosted by the owner and the lovely staff .

Such a superb place to...

Liked: The Whisky Vaults is such a lovely place to stay in Oban - wonderful location, excellent place and friendly staff. I did particularly appreciate the grab bag for breakfast even available in time for the first ferry! Thank you to the team.
Disliked: Nothing!
