Basic room, no breakfast, excellent...

Liked: Great location for starting our Hadrians wallwalk.
Disliked: Odd place. Room only and no breakfast. A very historic inn but clearly seen better days. No shower, and a strange bath that took ages to run. Pretty expensive for what it is.

Disliked: Couldn’t open all windows and there wasn’t a breakfast included

Good but looking shaky

Liked: Good size comfortable room.Well priced good food.Cheerful staff (only 1)
Disliked: Pub seems to be on the decline with few beers available and no customers. On a Thursday night only 3 tables taken and by 9pm we were the only ones in the bar. Lights went off and pub locked up after we went to our room at just after 9pm. A shame because it's a fine pub that just needs customers....and beer!

Disliked: There was no breakfast and we were asked to have our dinner at 6.30pm, not what you want when on holiday!

Liked: Rooms were comfortable and nicely finished
Disliked: For evening meal a number of menu items not available and there was only one draft beer. Dining area was empty and cheerless.No breakfast available.Prior Arrangement to leave our bags in the bar for collection was not available and in the morning we found the pub locked at front and back with no means to store bags as agreed.
