The Westin Ottawa

We would like to thank the Westin for a beautiful stay in the luxurious room for our Anniversary with an upgrade at a discounted rate. The hotel is very clean, well set up, and staff are extremely nice and helpful. Close to Parliament Hill, seen from room and across the street from Winterlude. The brunch at their restaurant is absolutely great with good service. Would recommend to friends and family any time and will be returning for future celebrations.

Disliked: Disappointing. It was my spouse’s birthday at midnight, so I called room service to ask if they could bring a cake closer to that time. They informed me that they could instead provide a slice of cake and even offered to include a bottle of wine and macarons, which was a pleasant surprise since I hadn’t requested them. Given this, I didn’t make any other arrangements for cake or wine that evening.However, it was extremely disappointing when nothing arrived at 11:30 PM as expected. Earlier in the day, at 6 PM, we inexplicably received a fruit platter, which had nothing to do with my request.Had I known how unreliable the service would be, I would have simply gone to Rideau Mall to get a cake myself—it would have been no trouble and would have saved us from what turned out to be a frustrating experience. The service was absolutely disappointing.
