The Westin Austin Downtown

A great location for restaurants...

Liked: The pool and bar on the rooftop were a welcome relief to the warm Austin sun.
Disliked: Kept having to ask for coffee creamer and a few other things were not replaced when the room was serviced.

Liked: nothing was exceptional, just an avergae hotel stay for the most part
Disliked: well when we arrived the room next to us had a yappy dog that wouldn't stop barking for over an hour so we had to leave. Around 1 am the plumbing in the bathroom starting making really loud gurgling sounds that made it impossible to sleep. About 7 am the room next to us had 4 or 5 kids in that just starting going berserk. Screaming, yelling crying, jumping up and down, banging in to the wall. I'm a parent of two young children so I get it but this was just beyond. I booked a relaxing getaway night for my wife and I to get a good night sleep and it was anything but. There's no way I would ever book another Westin hotel again.

Disliked: Car parking is only valet and too expensive. Gym is small.

Liked: The location is close to 6th street and a lot of restaurants.
Disliked: The bed was very uncomfortable.
