Midweek break at the Westgate...

Liked: Karen and Lee are excellent hosts. They made us feel welcome from the minute we arrived til the time we left for home. They responded to any requests promptly and offered advice on local places of interest etc. The room was very well appointed with lots of storage space and spotlessly clean. The breakfasts were great and everything was cooked fresh to your liking.An ideal location for us - only a short walk/bus journey to the town centre/seafront. A quiet, relaxing break and we will recommend the Westgate to all our friends and would certainly stay there again.

First class hotel in a...

Liked: The hotel exceeded all of our expectations. A special jewel on the English coast. It is conveniently located close to the train station, but also to the beach promenade. Our room with the ancient four-poster bed was so beautiful that you wouldn't really want to share it with anyone else. The bathroom is very large, clean and modern. The hotel owners were hospitable and always in a good mood. They always responded to individual wishes. We can warmly recommend this hotel.

Excellent stay

Liked: Lee and Karen were wonderful hosts nothing was too much trouble. Had a fab 4 poster room. Breakfast was exceptional even Karen's poached eggs were perfect, and the optional evening meal was homecooked to a very high standard. Lovely guests staying the same time as we did. Central and easy walking distant (even though it was on a incline)to all amenities.Plenty of parking spaces. We would award them "Four in a bed" winners

clean , nice , friendly...

Liked: Both Lee and Karen are exceptional hosts and very friendly and helpful , breakfast superb evening meals which you pay extra for were great and good size portions , I would recommend when having evening meals that the onion soup was brilliant and I asked for it again later during our 4 day stay . we asked Lee about some local shops and high tide times for nearby beaches and he even went to check online for us while we were in between meals in the evening . the hotel is well located for beaches and shops in Torquay and also for getting out and about by car,
Disliked: nothing to say that there was anything we didn't like , it was the best hotel we been to for our weekend breaks and we been to a few but Westgate tops them all the only downside was that there were not many other guests there despite it being Torbay Air show weekend
