Liked: We had a lovely time. Fiona and all the staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. We could open the windows in our room !!!! ( Not always possible in hotel accommodation!) So the room was comfortable and a pleasant temperature and we slept very well. We had breakfast, a lunch and a dinner during our stay - all the food was delicious. This hotel is not ostentatious but it has quality ! Middleham is a lovely place - full of historic buildings including the castle of course. It is bustling and bristling with racing activity. It's lovely to see all the horses go out in the mornings. Every driveway and jitty leads to a stable yard ! If I stayed again I think I would book to visit a yard as I don't know much about racing and would like to find out more about the industry.There are lovely walks to be had through the dales countryside from Middleham
