Relaxing stay in beautiful Boscastle

Liked: Beautiful old building, our room was incredible. The staff were friendly, our little dog was made very welcome and the service was good. Breakfast was lovely, as was the location.
Disliked: We went in a heatwave, our room was over the kitchen and we only had one window which opened fully. No air con.

A wonderful stay

Liked: So much to love. Great location. 30 second walk to the sea. Short walk to some great restaurants including the Rocket Store. Parking is available on site for 7 cars but you can park nearby for very little money. Breakfast excellent and very friendly staff. Drinks night before varied and reasonable with live music on Friday night from Daisy Marsh was a pleasure. Very comfortable bed and high quality shower. Historic building. A true gem.

Mixed emotions.

Liked: The building, the beer garden and bar area, it's clean, generally nice atmosphere. The beds are comfy and a lot of thought has gone in to the rooms.
Disliked: The lack of staff and general scent of omnishambles in the air or at the very least, looming disaster. Over run, tired looking, and unavailable staff (from check in to when we had dinner). Felt for the girl alone front of house serving breakfast in what is a big breakfast room. Classic St Austell putting pressure on the GM to make savings and cut staff I suspect. The slamming doors outside of the rooms. Dear Lord, get some dampeners on those things, hardly slept a wink after 5am so left feeling exhausted after what felt like a barrage of small artillery fire from the early hoursDogs in the restaurant - just no. Appreciate it's difficult for pubs and hotels to get this right with the sycophantic "everyone loves my dog" dog crowd as they get so butt hurt and vocal if venues don't allow dogs but this needs a rethink. £10 + for some olives and bit of bang average bread. Wow that was disappointing. Basic £5.50-£6 starter at best.

A lovely place for short...

Liked: It’s a lovely building and done out beautifully. The rooms are very comfortable. All the furniture in keeping with the period. Just a lovely property and central to everything. Staff all so friendly and helpful. The car park was a bonus
Disliked: Nothing.

Amazing spot with easy access...

Liked: The heritage, quirkiness and amazing breakfast room. Fan was essential and it was a great location.
Disliked: Food was good but lacked some variety felt very standard pub grub which didn't perhaps match the feeling of the building. But no major complaints we had a lovely stay.

Good

Liked: We were very impressed with the style of our bedroom . Bed was comfortable and nice quilt and feather pillows . Complimentary drinks in the fridge but we didn't have them. Breakfast was lovely. We had an evening meal and can I just say that the steak was so delicious and tasty.
Disliked: On arrival to the hotel it was very busy and there wasn't anyone on the front desk . The flustered bar tender was slightly rude to us but then went on to offering us free drinks whilst we waited. Also nobody at the front desk when leaving . Our shower in room 6 was very tight to get in and out and had little room to wash yourself. The room really needs air conditioning as it's directly above the kitchen and we only could open one little window and that didn't help . I didn't get any sleep the first night at all because I was so hot . There was only one fan available in the hotel as there was more on order , we was told.
