Disappointing

Was ok
Liked: The room was nice & big & the bed was very comfy.
Disliked: The noise from the traffic, it was like the windows was open. The shower pole came away from the wall. The breakfast wasn’t all that good, there was meat left out on a plate not covered. Wouldn’t say it was worth the money.

Price was right
Liked: The room was modern & clean. Price was right for the room & facilities provided. I booked the single room it was compact but clean.
Disliked: Location was a bit further from train station than I am used to however the walk wasn't excessive (12 min) & the price paid wasn't city centre price. So that's a really a big positive.

Seemed ok but a bit...
Liked: The property seemed in a reasonable state for its age although I can’t say much about it as I only went through the bar and up to my room and I didn’t go for the breakfast as it was just continental, I prefer cooked breakfast. There was a decent size TV on the wall at the end of the bed and a hairdryer attached to the wall also tea and coffee facilities on the shelf next to the bed with a nice clean kettle.
Disliked: Unfortunately for me even though I know I was a solo traveler the room I had (room 8) was just far too small I could practically touch both walls width ways and it wasn’t much longer than the length of the bed so I kinda felt like I was sleeping in a closet room. It was decorated well enough and the shower room at the other end of the room was well presented, it looked modern and clean. If not again on the small side, I struggled to move around while trying to get ready with my case getting in the way as there was nowhere to put it out the way except on the bed. I don’t believe this is an adequate size room even for a solo traveler but if your looking for a 1 night stay it might be ok if your just using it purely to sleep in. It’s too small to spend any longer in. Also a lot of door banging early hours in the morning with people coming back from their nights out. I would have like to see the other rooms to compare so unfortunately my review has to be on the one I was given. I’m sure had I had a slightly larger room it might be different and I’m sure the bar is nice enough from the Quick Look I had of it.

Have breakfast out and bring...
Liked: The room was comfortable and glad to see usb charger sockets, the room was welcoming and cosy.
Disliked: The breakfast was appalling, nothing like the photos, the guy working there putting out the pathetic breakfast was also cleaning the toilets at the same time. If lactose intolerant you will go hungry- they put out oat milk to go with 2 types of cereal, raisins, plain yogurt, over cooked tiny croissants and some slices of ham and cheese. The road is very noisy as are the builders next door which is not the fault of the hotel.

No hearing in the room
Liked: Good price. Restaurant food was great and staff were very welcoming and friendly
Disliked: The hotel staff wasn’t that great. The room that I stayed in was close to the road and the window had a draft coming in along with road traffic. The room was cold and the heating wasn’t working. I requested the heating be turned on twice and I was told someone will come and fix it. No one cake and I had to sleep with my coat over me under the duvet
