Overall an enjoyable 4 night...

Liked: The hotel has the feel of a grand old house. Discreet air conditioning in the reataurant was very welcome, The views of the garden and countryside from the restaurant , bar and our room were excellent. Comfortable bar and outside terrace overlooking the gardens. Car parking was easy. The beakfast buffet was very good. Staff were friendly and helpful especially Claire.
Disliked: The restaurant menu had limited main course choice and the food served was rather disappointing. We resorted to using the bar menu.

Liked: Room was quite hot but the fan was good. The head waiter/front of house was excellent -attentive and caring. He was working very hard and was noted. Thank you Lovely spa. Lovely gym. I dislike shower curtains over bath …Would be good to have a fridge in the room.
Disliked: Dated decorLumpy pillow I ordered an identical drink (erdinger alcohol free beer) and I was charged £6 for the first bottle then £4.50 the next. A little inconsistent. Had lunch in the restaurant. The salad had no dressing on and the chicken was dry. The pizza was very bland.

Beautiful hotel!

Liked: I love the grandeur of the building, the Italian garden, breakfast, the restaurants with the view and especially the spa with huge indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi plus the outdoor thermal pool. It’s fantastic!
Disliked: The room needs updating, the curtain was ripped, bathroom mat got molds and need more plugs by the bedside

Disappointing.

Liked: The building is stunning, the grounds are well kept, and the view over the countryside we nice. The spa facilities are nice, the pool was lovely and everything was clean.The bar/restaurant looks out onto Italian gardens, which was a pleasant way to enjoy a drink. Although we didn't have our dog, it was a dog friendly hotel, which was nice.
Disliked: The room was stiffling; there was a poorly working fan in one corner, but you couldn't feel the effect. The windows barely opened, and the drapes are so heavy, the only serve to insulate the room further. We asked for an extra fan, which had to be plugged in, in the same corner as there were no plug sockets by the bed. The beds were very hard, and you could feel the divan base. It might have been the worst night's sleep of my life! The bathroom was tired, grubby, and in serious need of an upgrade. Check in was so simple, but note that you cant check in until 4pm. Breakfast wasn't great; the coffee machine was broken, and the food had been out far too long under the lamps. There was no vegetarian option available or offered. Unfortunately, we wouldn't return because of the room and overall lack of comfort.

Well deserved break.

Liked: Our room was fantastic .Very comfortable, and so spacious.Also a really quiet room The leisure swimming pool, jacuzzi, and spa were lovely . Although the Sauna and steam room were too hot to stay in more than a few seconds
Disliked: Unfortunately, due to a large group of golfers, we had to wait longer than expected for our meal. But the staff were very apologetic and gave us some free drinks. Also there wasn't a lot of choice on the evening meal. It was rather expensive and relatively small portions. The food was good.The hotel is lovely but does need some repairs and renovating.The garden area is quite dangerous in places. Uneven slabs, which I unfortunately tripped on one by the water fountain and fell to the floor hurting my knee. Not seriously but could have been avoided if more maintenance. Or at least some warning signs.
