A handy base for what...

Liked: I wanted to visit specific things in that part of the Borders, so chose accommodation that was handy. I had stayed at the Waverley Castle Hotel before so knew it would give me a clean, comfortable place to stay. The food was good too.
Disliked: The view from my bedroom window. Why do single travellers get the poor views?

A very lovely hotel in...

Liked: We chose this hotel as a stopover, and were pleasantly surprised at how lovely it was. Our ground floor room was large and well appointed. The bed was large and comfy, and the shower was hot! We chose a dinner deal and were pleased with the choice and quality of the food. Breakfast was cooked to order.
Disliked: Travellers should note that this hotel accepts tour groups, so be prepared! We arrived at the same time as a bus group and the staff were busy.
