Liked: Convenient , lovely location and views. It’s where we had our wedding night 24 years ago when it was run by the original local owners
Disliked: The building is looking very tired on the exterior , there were parts of the room that needed better repairs. It’s a shame that the Breakwater restaurant has never been reopened - I worked there in 2000!- Even having the bar open would be nice and room service available. It’s such a shame to see such a beautiful property being neglected.

Don’t stay here

Liked: Easy access to the train station. Possibly good views if you had a room facing the water.
Disliked: They posted false advertising on Booking.com. said there was a full kitchen, washing machine, bath, bathrobes. No cooking utensils in the kitchen, washing machine doesn’t work, no plug for the bath (had to request from reception and then it didn’t fit!) and no bathrobe. Plus, on arrival they charge a $500 “holding deposit” that they say you’ll get back after someone has inspected your room after checkout. It says nothing about that on Booking.com or anywhere on the hotel website. Reception staff argued with me on all accounts when I raised the deposit and the lack of amenities in the room, telling me it does say these things on Booking.com. It does not and I have the photos to prove it. Ultimately, entirely useless if you are planning a long stay. The oven wasn’t entirely clean and neither was the microwave, which I took photos of when I arrived for fear I would be blamed for it. Not to mention, knowing of the $500 deposit, I was unable to relax the entire time I was there, for fear that I might incur some type of unknown cost, and therefore barely used any of the few amenities that were provided. All around, an uncomfortable stay.
