The Watergate Hotel

Ticked most of the boxes...

Liked: The location and room were superb. The staff were excellent. Mesfin, the concierge, was particularly helpful.
Disliked: The food offering was too limited and the drinks expensive.

Liked: the staff and design were highlights of the trip. The room itself was nice, not stellar, but certainly not rundown.
Disliked: the food at the kingbird was quite disappointing for the price. while the service was great in the restaurant, the food was quite expensive. but that's what you get with hotel food I suppose.

Liked: The room and hotel overall was nice in terms of decor.
Disliked: The location is not great, no nearby bus station, and walking distance feels like walking through a high way (although not really a high way). Housekeeping is also not great. I made comments to the front desk about the quality of cleaning and it wasn’t improved. The staff was very slow in responding to requests. Sometimes I had to call three times to get an answer and then follow up again for the request. I probably wouldn’t stay there again mainly for location and services offered; they do not match the price.

Wonderful vacation

Liked: Staff were so attentive and pleasant. The food was delicious. So good having the pool to unwind in after a busy day sightseeing. I would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of visiting Washington. So close to the waterfront where you will find lots of restaurants.
Disliked: Hotel was situated about an hours walk from most sights we had to get a taxi everywhere. That being said, it didn't bother us but just so others are aware.
