The Wallace Hotel

Very disappointing!

Disliked: My stay at the Wallace Hotel was very disappointing for the following reasons: 1- My room was located at the ground floor next to a lounge in the hotel which was very noisy especially at night time, I have asked the staff to move me to a floor above and the answer was a hard NO 2- The room had very limited view and sunlight 3- There was no luggage delivery to the room and had to do it myself, strange for a 5 star hotel 4- The Air Conditioner was not operating well at my room and when i called the staff the solution was a stand electric AC that they provided5- The shampoo and body lotion were very poor quality6- At time of checkout, I have asked the staff if i can checkout at 12:30 instead of 12:00 (which is a 30 minute request)and i have been answered with a very blunt NO and that i have to leave at 12:00 for them to clean the room All in all, the experience was very poor and was definitely not a 5 star hotel experience especially that i had to pay nearly $6k for a 7 night stay.

Liked: Everything was fine. All the essentials were there: the room was clean and well-equipped, the bed was large and very comfortable, the shower was decent, the location was convenient. I had a good stay. Otherwise, it was nothing special and rather overpriced for what it was.

The hotel is distinctly overhyped. The service was not very responsive: the complimentary goodies in the minibar are supposed to be refreshed daily but they were not, unless specifically requested. There is no turndown service. The walls are a bit thin. There was no view from the room, though the size of the room was decent and it was well-equipped. The towels are on the small side and there is no place to hang them. I had a good stay, but the hotel is rather overpriced for what I got.
