Would definitely stay again but...

Liked: very friendly staff and room was exceptionally clean, the provision of a dining area with crockery/cutlery and microwave ovens was really useful. Had a problem with the shower which was fixed as soon as I mentioned it.
Disliked: I was given a twin roomwhen I had booked a double. I got terrible sleep as a result, I just don’t fit a single bed and it wasso soft and not supportive but I was a complete fool and didn’t raise it with the staff, which I should have done.

Good value for money, clean...

Liked: First impressions were really good, nice area, clean and tidy looking pub. We paid on check in and were given our keys. We were quoted £88 but on check in she said it was £78.50. I queried it but she was adamant that all we needed to pay! We had booked a twin room but were given a quadruple room with a double and twin beds. It was a sizeable room and the amount of beds was not a detriment. There was a small sitting area, plenty of storage and clean and tidy en-suite. We were aware there was no food available in the pub but we were shown where we could get plates and cutlery if we wanted to bring food in. We went down to the pub on the first evening which was a typical old style pub. It had sports on TV which was not really our thing so we had a couple of drinks and went back to our room The beds were very comfy if very bouncy! I almost rolled off one of the single beds so treated myself to the double. The linen was crisp and fresh, there were plenty of good quality pillows and towels. Considering we paid £78.50 for 2 of us for 2 nights, I think we had a great value for money stay and would stay again.
Disliked: The only negatives I can think of are very minor- the extension lead didn't work but we managed and the toilet was noisy but it was a macerator toilet so to be expected. You could also hear noise from the bar but as we booked a stay in a pub, why would you expect not to! It didn't disturb us and didn't go on late.

Liked: We have stayed here before. The room was spacious, and clean. The beds were comfortable. The staff were great. We have booked again in May.
Disliked: Parking was a little tricky if arriving back in the evening.A small niggle, there was no decaf coffee in the room.

Noisy, limited parking, adequate.

Liked: The place was ok. Parking is very limited. We were there on a weekend and it's over an active and noisy pub. The sound dies down by 11 or 12pm but if you want to sleep earlier, it may be tough. Our room looked out on the rear patio where people were drinking and talking loudly with pretty salty language. Not a big deal but also not the most pleasant. The room is very simple. The walls are very thin. The bathrooms all use macerators and so you can hear that grinding noise when the folks next to you use the shower or toilet--like our neighbours did at 4am. We could also hear their conversation. The best thing about it was proximity to Seaham beach. Not much else to recommend it unless you want to be really close to a local pub.
