The Villa Levens

Had to find somewhere else.

Disliked: The business went into liquidation the day before our booking. We were not informed. When we arrived the gates were locked with a sign saying "This business is closed - phone this number", which we did and were told to send an email and they would respond "in due course". We had to find somewhere else to stay. Disgraceful they can't tell people in advance of travelling. We subsequently saw it in the local paper (Westmoreland Gazette) and people due to get married there have potentially lost thousands. Thought they would have told Booking.com so you could tell your clients. We'd been going there for 10 years!

Disliked: The advertised wi-fi was virtually nonexistent in the bedrooms and only a reasonably strong signal in the reception area.Food and beverage very disappointing. Supposed to be a 2 rosette restaurant showing an haute cuisine sample menu on their website but in reality offering a pub style menu which bore no resemblance to what was advertised, had there been other choices nearby we would have cancelled our dinner reservation.
