Liked: Disappointing experience – misleading upgrade and poor communicationWe booked a newly remodeled luxury two queen suite for smokers via Booking. After a long and tiring trip, we arrived at the hotel and waited around 20–25 minutes to check in. At the desk, we were informed that no smoking rooms were available unless we paid for an upgrade — $250 per night.Since we were 4 people, the receptionist checked with a manager if two extra beds could be added to the upgraded room. She confirmed it was possible, so we paid the extra amount — $250/night + taxes (the taxes were not mentioned upfront), so the total went from $750 to $835.When we returned to the room later that evening, we discovered that only one extra bed had been delivered. I went back to the front desk to explain, and they apologized, saying the second bed would arrive shortly.Unfortunately, it never did. At 11:30 PM, after another visit to reception, we were told that this type of room only allows one extra bed. We were then offered to move to another smoking room and get a refund — but when we went to see the room, it was very dirty and not acceptable.In the end, we stayed in the original room — 4 people, only 3 beds.This is not what we were promised or paid for.I expected more professionalism and honesty. The experience was stressful and disappointing. I felt misled, and for the price paid, this should not have happened.
