Liked: The hotel has a very upbeat vibe which distracts you from the current environment.
Disliked: Breakfast was disappointing served in the bar. Our room was listed as a senior suite $$$$$ but it was in a corner of the hotel, when you opened the shades, you were at street level, and the room was very dark. No maid service, had to run across the street to just get a bottle of water. Would not recommend this place.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Disliked: A friend and I came to Charleston for the weekend and after reading rave reviews, chose to stay at The Vendue. Before our trip, I messaged The Vendue to find out the easiest way to get to the hotel from the airport. Tarleton (a manager) said to take one of the shuttles outside baggage claim. When we landed and looked for the shuttles, we found out that they haven?t been running for months due to COVID. How did a manager not know this when answering a very common question about how to get to their establishment from the airport? Next, we checked in to what was supposed to be a ?Deluxe Queen? room. When we got to our room, it is very basic. I called to confirm that the room we were put in was indeed a Deluxe Queen vs. a standard room and they say that no it isn?t, that type of room doesn?t even exist. Instead, they placed us in a higher-end King room. Seemed like a fair upgrade given we reserved an upscale queen room. This room was a nightmare. The hot water in the shower wouldn?t work unless you had the hot water in the sink running. They weren?t doing daily room cleaning services (understandable given the times), so we called downstairs for new towels to be delivered. After 3 calls, new towels NEVER arrived. It wasn?t until we stopped by the front desk on our way to dinner that they FINALLY dropped them off. At the end of our second night, we noticed the foot of our bed was SOAKED. We looked up and there was water dripping for the ceiling and on to the bed. We called and they said maintenance wasn?t on-site so they?d have to relocate us. We were already unpacked and also in our pajamas, but the room was truly uninhabitable so we accepted the relocation. We had to pack up at 9 something PM and move across the street. The bellman helped us move our bags and they did comp us one night?s stay. Our new room did not have issues with water temperature or water but was incredibly loud (AC unit woke us up 6-8x/night).Avoid The Vendue if staying in Charleston!

Their cheapest room is $300/night...
Liked: Beautiful art in walls.
Disliked: Room was the size of a large walk-in closet. Had no windows, ventitaltion, or fire alarms. This is not legal in some states, so they should at least list these details on Booking.com

Great staff, location and rooms
Liked: Really pleasant welcome from the staff and amazing property. It was a shame that the bar and restaurant was closed on both Sunday and Monday (the days we stayed) - not sure whether this is a COVID thing or the regular hours - however we were able to use the very well appointed outside space for our Takeout Cheese and Wine!

Disliked: For the price I paid the room was awful. The walls were In repair but not painted. Dead flies on the bed and the floor. Some kind of a marking underneath the toilet tissue wall.
