Very friendly welcome, lovely staff,...

Liked: A charming location in a beautiful village, a really lovely warm welcome from the staff, all of whom looked after me very well.Superb breakfast the next day for an extra £12 which I thought was excellent value. They don’t serve food on Monday and Tuesday, but you can dial in from just eat or Deliveroo. I would be very happy to stay here again as it’s an excellent base for exploring beautiful countryside and nearby attractions such as Calke Abbey.They serve three good ales in the bar, I enjoyed a good night’s sleep because the road is actually very quiet.

Great pub stay in a...

Liked: Great location in a lovely area. Friendly and helpful staff. The girls working in the bar/ restaurant were top notch...... very friendly and we had an interesting time with some of the local regulars.Food was good, but a few things were off the menu, as we were eating late on a Saturday night, so that's understandable.
Disliked: No breakfast was available due to staff issues, which was a pity but didn't spoil the stay.

Superb

Liked: Lovely pub with large beer garden at the rear and plenty of parking. The accomodation is in a separate building just behind the pub. The room was large, clean and comfortable. It was well-stocked with a coffee machine, shampoo, shower gel, hairdryer etc. Breakfast was available in the pub for overnight guests at an extra charge but we didn't try it. We had an evening meal in the pub which was lovely.
