Liked: location was excelle d and the breakfast and meals and service v good. Room was cold to begin (heat turned to min) with and took a while to heat up tbe absolutely fine.
Disliked: there was a party on sat night - wedding - and guests were very noisy (disco)into early morning - i'm not a kill-joy and its not quite under hotels control, but one idea might be to take a £250 or £300 deposit and if party out of control then pay other guests back with a reduced rate or free breakfast for inconvenience.

A good overnight stay

Liked: Central hotel in Melrose. On road parking within a few minutes walk off the hotel. We ate in the Brassiere which was reasonably priced.We were in room 9. Dated and faded furnishings but comfortable. The shower was over the bath which I don’t like as I am worried about slipping and they provided instructions as the shower temperature can be temperamental. The whole hotel would benefit from updating. The carpets up the stairs are very worn. Helpful staff.
