Great location. Clean, but didn’t...

Liked: Location at the centre of the town
Disliked: No-one there to meet us on arrival and given the wrong keys to get in. Didn’t feel particularly welcomed. Waited 40 mins for breakfast.

Very comfortable and enjoyable.

Liked: Beautiful room and bathroom. Wonderful host changed our room to one with a bath in addition to shower when she found out we had been walking the South Downs Way all day.
Disliked: Nothing

A very pleasant stay

Liked: Great location directly across the street from Arundel Castle. Good pubs, tearooms, and restaurants within walking distance. Very nice breakfast.
Disliked: No on-site parking, but free on-street parking from 4pm to 10am.

Liked: Quirky but comfortable and well maintained. Loved the 4 poster bed. Staff were very friendly and the manager Terry was very welcoming. Food was good too . But the person who made our stay fun was the Bartender/front of house Alex , who made amazing cocktails and made us laugh . A real character

Good accommodation in fantastic historic...

Liked: Good accommodation in fantastic historic location. The house has great atmosphere, with beautiful decor, especially the wonderful Italian ceiling on the ground floor. The location could not be better for walking around and visiting the castle. The staff are very helpful and friendly.
Disliked: Overall, we were very happy with our stay, but just a few minor points to be aware of: - no nearby free car park (but cheap car park other side of the bridge, 10 minutes walk away),- rooms only accessible via staircase, no lift,- our bathroom had a bath with handheld shower, but no opportunity to have a stand-up shower,- our room was pretty but small, without a proper place to put our cases,- if you are thirsty at breakfast, ask for tea which comes in a pot, while coffee is served in a small cup. You can ask for more coffee, but it takes time and is not so convenient if, as I said, you're really in need of a big cup of coffee!

A hotel with lovely atmosphere...

Liked: Location is ideal for Arundel.Quality of cooked breakfast was very good. Impressed with the Chef's attitude, friendly and willing to accommodate any preferences.
Disliked: Noise from the bar area carries easily up the adjacent staircase to the rooms. A door or curtain to baffle the noise would help improve this.Room 4 - has a bath and hand held shower attachment. This arrangement does make having a standing shower difficult. A modification to include a shower fixing and curtain/panel would be a preference in my case. However for those that prefer baths, the facilities are excellent.
