A shame that the appearance...

Liked: Cooked breakfast was excellent as was the porridge.Outlook from dining tables was very good over the river.Very good position for buses into and out of Norwich
Disliked: The bedroom was small and the bathroom smaller! The toilet was badly positioned because of the lack of space. The structure of the hotel needed a great deal of TLC with rotting window frames and fairly badly marked carpets. The continental breakfast was poor - inedible croissant and chemically tasting muffin. The alternative serial and toast was limited even though we had paid for breakfast.

Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

It was disappointing. Young staff...

Liked: My checking-out day went well as I had orientated myself to the property/
Disliked: 1) The staff didn't anticipate the orientation needs of the older guests like myself. They didn't go above and beyond in any way whatsoever, require customer service training? Other older guests had difficulties in orientation as well as myself. We just needed more help in finding our way round the property and at mealtimes.2) Some male guests were uttering the 'F' word liberally. Call me old-fashined if you wish to, but I was significantly appalled that these guests didn't know how to be behave appropriately in the company of a number of children at mealtimes.

Liked: Stayed before and location is good with river view and plenty of free Parking and excellent breakfast
Disliked: Stairs were steep and shower was broken but to be fair a new shower was fitted same day.

Liked: Convenient. Friendly staff.
Disliked: Thin walls and doors. Noisy and slamming fire doors outside our room. Perhaps they should consider soft-closing hinges on them. Our mattress was too hard for us.

Lovely staff. Hit and miss...

Liked: We asked to change rooms to have one with a view, which a very kind member of staff did for us. The staff were extremely nice and friendly.
Disliked: We had the Carvery on the first evening, which was awful. The meat was fine, but I think the vegetables and been used over a few days. The potatoes were like rubber, the Yorkshire pudding was uncutable and everything was luke warm, as was cooked breakfast on the Friday. A lot of the hotel is very tired, especially the dining room. Paintwork is disgraceful.

Ok

Liked: The hotel feels a little run down. The staff do their best but given that it is in a prime spot next to the river, it should be heaving. The beds were comfortable and clean enough.
Disliked: The evening meal was poorly executed. The carvery meat has been out all day. The veg was very dry and mushy and was very overrated! The pulled pork burger was missing any pulled pork and overcooked. The breakfast was similarly poor. Over cooked, poor choice and dry.

Poor - 1.5 out of 5

Jackie Sun, 8 June 2025

Not worth the money.

Liked: The rooms were clean, but not as cosy as they look in the pictures The restaurant/bar staff were very efficient, friendly and helpful. Lovely setting by the broads, nice garden, if a little untidy. Food ok.
Disliked: This hotel is very run down, wall paper peeling off, cracks in the ceiling, carpet taped up with safety tape. Again not like the pictures. There is no disability access/ramps/lifts.Lovely garden, but too many tables squashed together and parasols strewn around the garden.
