The Spotlight on The Three Swans Hotel Market Harborough Leicestershire

Historic Comfort with a Modern Touch in Market Harborough

A charming 16th-century coaching inn in the heart of Market Harborough, The Three Swans Hotel blends period features with modern comfort. With its central location, welcoming atmosphere, and two on-site restaurants, it's a cosy base for concert-goers exploring Leicestershire's music scene. The hotel is just a short drive from Foxton Locks, Rockingham Castle, and Rockingham Speedway, and offers free parking plus excellent road and rail links.

Why Concert-goers love it

Music fans appreciate the hotel’s central location in Market Harborough, just minutes from the train station with direct services to London and Sheffield. It's ideal for those catching shows in surrounding towns or heading into the city. After a gig, return to a peaceful setting with quiet rooms and easy check-in from 15:00. The courtyard and on-site bar offer a relaxing space to wind down post-show.

Who this Hotel is great for

- Groups of friends looking for a sociable and walkable stay
- Solo travelers wanting a safe, central location
- Couples making a weekend escape
- Fans looking for a peaceful night after the noise
- Budget-conscious music lovers who want great value with character

Food and Drink Options

The on-site Eatery restaurant delivers fine dining, craft cocktails, and a courtyard pizza oven in summer. Perfect for late bites after a show. While there’s no 24/7 room service, the hotel’s central location means plenty of walkable options are nearby. Breakfast is available and served at a time concert-goers can appreciate.

Nightlife Options

Though there’s no on-site live music, the hotel bar offers a cosy atmosphere with a good drinks selection. You’ll find pubs and bars within easy walking distance, or hop on a train to nearby towns for a livelier scene.

What People Say

Guests rave about the historic charm, friendly staff, and great food. Many highlight the central location, generous breakfast, and the comfortable, well-maintained rooms. The courtyard dining and pizza oven earn special praise in warmer months.

Areas for Improvement

While many love the old-world charm, a few guests note that some rooms could use a modern refresh. The lack of air conditioning might be noticed during hotter months, and the building’s age means some rooms may have creaky floors or small bathrooms.

The Bottom Line

A character-filled and convenient base for concert-goers who want historic charm, good food, and easy access to Leicestershire’s live music and transport hubs.

Not pleasant experience

Liked: Nice breakfast
Disliked: Tired room in the outside block, furniture needs refreshing, carpet looks dirty and past its best, mould round bath/shower. Noisy next to bins and a car garage

If you are in the...

Liked: Lovely eating places in the hotel. Beautiful planters. Very good food. Breakfast was plentiful. We were given a ground floor room as requested, because of my osteoarthritis. Free parking.
Disliked: The only downside was breakfast is served upstairs and there is no lift. Fine for the majority of guests, but painful for me.We still had a great time.

Superb

Liked: Nice room away from the main block. Very quiet. Food was good. Good parking.Very central and convenient
Disliked: The soft shut on the kitchen door didn't work. For breakfast, we sat next to it. I mentioned it to a maintenance man who thought it was a bit of a joke with his mate messing about with a pigeon in the courtyard.... hope they have sorted it. Not a big job....
