The Thornhill

Great place in a fantastic...

Liked: Lovely large comfy bed. We stayed in room 6 with a view of the sea. The parking was only a few minutes walk away and the town was also very close. Bonus having a cooked breakfast includedIn the price.
Disliked: The shower was a bit noisy.

Lovely stay at Thornhill

Liked: The location is great. Owners are really attentive, and they got the ground floor room, which was wheelchair friendly, from entrance to the shower. Breakfast had the same menu every day but with several options available and cooked at the moment it was ordered.
Disliked: There was no parking in the property, but street parking was safe, and there was plenty of additional parking in the train station 5 min walking distance.

Liked: Exceptionally clean. All the staff were really friendly. Good breakfast
Disliked: Nothing

Very good

Liked: Lady owner was very nice and works hard to make her hotel exceptional.My wife and I travel a lot, the breakfast was the best we have had at any hotel anywhere.
Disliked: It's an old building but very typical of many hotels in Devon. However the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was very modern.

Disliked: On arrival we felt rushed to make decisions as we were immediately asked what time we wanted our breakfast. This was after a long drive and we had not even been shown to our rooms or given a chance to use the bathroom or get a drink!Limited timeframe for breakfast - 8.30 to 9.30am. Also we felt that we were putting the owners out of their way when we requested the same breakfast time for the majority of our group, and a slightly earlier or later breakfast time for three of our group as they were taking part in the Park Run. We were happy to go to breakfasts at slightly differing times as we were a group of 9. However, whilst the owners did accommodate our request for a slightly earlier and later time, it really felt as if we were inconveniencing them.

An excelllent place to stay...

Liked: Exceptionally clean and so close to all the amenities .Great room with lots of extras and the breakfast was amazing too.
Disliked: Nothing !!!!

Very comfortable, seaside hotel

Liked: Great location on beach front. Parking was not too far away. Room was very comfortable and large. Hotel was quiet and a great location to explore from
Disliked: The shower was a little fiddly to get running at a good temperature but with a little perseverance it was fine.

Exceptional

Liked: breakfast was amazing, the room had a bathroom along the corridor, but we soon got used to it. The rom had the best view!
