Superb

Liked: Suzzi the manager was lovely and other staff. Accommodation was really goof.
Disliked: Was concerned about the speed of the traffic which was not the fault of the accommodation. I said in Scotland they have 20 mph zones where families are.

Comfortable spacious room with great...

Liked: The hotel was lovely and in a beautiful countryside location. The room was comfortable, spacious and had everything we could have needed. Although they could do with a mirror in the main room - I couldn't find a place near a plug socket to do my hair. Breakfast was delicious and filled us up for the day!

Didn't match previous reviews

Liked: The breakfast was nice enough, the sausage wasn't Cumberland though, service better on the first morning, had to ask for juice and received no toast the second morning.
Disliked: The paint work is needing attention, deep cleaning also required as there's a build up of dirt in the corners of the bathroom, the real shocker was the duvet, who would dream of putting a duvet on the bed that the filling had fallen apart forming large clumps, couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the lumpy bed, that duvet needs binned. The owners need to address the front of the property, dead tree's and weeds in the planters doesn't give a good first impression or kerb value, they'd get more passing trade if it looked attractive, same with the beer garden at the back.

Liked: Location was excellent to stay en route to the Lake District. Comfortable, clean room and en suite bathroom. Excellent dinner which was well presented.

Amazing food but accommodation with...

Liked: Room 2 is a lovely big room with great potential but appeared to be midway through an upgrade. We'd willingly return - even pay slightly more - to find a mirror and chair in the bedroom and some pictures on the walls. The lovely modern bathroom just needs and an extractor fan and a hygeine bin.The Tavern is right on the A6 so a lot of traffic noise but we slept well in big comfy bed.We were greeted warmly by a member of staff in the bar, who also served us in the restaurant where the food was AMAZING!
Disliked: Trafic noise!

Passable

Liked: Spacious room, newly refurbished shower room.
Disliked: Right on the main road which is very busy and fast. If you were unlucky enough to get a room facing the road as we were then the traffic noise was deafening . You couldn’t leave the windows open and it was tough to sleep
