The Tavern at Hale

Disappointing

Liked: Location and how clean and modern it is.
Disliked: Noisy could not close window as its on main road l could not sleep for trafic noise.The room above us was banging and clattering till midnight.Restarant very busy only one person on bar and seving.we waited 35 mins for order to be taken then an another 40 mins for food. When it came there was items missing only to be told we dont have them..yet l was charged full price!

Highly recommended

Liked: Great welcome from Chris behind the bar when we arrived. Dinner, which was very good, was served by a pleasant Hungarian lady and breakfast, also very nice, was served by the lovely Sandra who was very helpful. Lovely staff and a very nice room. We stayed at The Tavern last year on our way to Scotland and would be more than happy to stay there again

Dinner, Bed & Breakfast

Liked: Lovely room, very spacious, had the Superior king room, bed comfy and clean. Very friendly staff, they were lovely and very accommodating, went above and beyond, made us feel very welcome, and nothing was too much trouble.  The food is tasty; bistro pub grub and there was plenty of it.Would definitely stay again if in the area, £99 B&B incl breakfast, absolutely value for money.
Disliked: Needs a chair or two in the room, no where to sit, plenty of space for them.Nespresso machine part missing, couldnt use it, had instant, but only decaf coffee available.

Lovely

Liked: Very good food both evening and breakfast
Disliked: Breakfast time could have been a little more flexible for people with a long travelling day ahead

Pleasant

Nothing special but price ok.

Liked: The beds were very comfortable and the shower was huge!
Disliked: The cleaning wasn’t great but it wasn’t too grim. The breakfast was pretty good although there was no menu and no cereal/pastries to help yourself to. We also only got one cup of coffee and weren’t offered a refill.The road noise could be a problem if you like to have a window open but didn’t bother us.
