Very good and friendly hosts

Liked: Very friendly host. The food was very good. Room was comfy.We are coming back next time
Disliked: Nothing

Run like a pub should...

Liked: Excellent hosts and a couple of dishes on the menu reflected their South African background. Nothing was too much trouble. This is a new venture for them which is being well supported by the village.
Disliked: Rooms quite satisfactory but a bit 'tired'.

Exceptional

Liked: Even before we arrived, you could tell it would be great. So welcoming & friendly. Room was perfect. Full of character in a beautiful, peaceful village. We had dinner & breakfast too. Plenty of food & drink options, including some irresistible South African choices. Shame it was just the 1 night. If we'd planned a bit better, we'd have stayed longer.

Very restful stay after a...

Liked: Lovely traditional Pub and the room was very clean and comfortable.
Disliked: Could not get the TV to work as it was not programmed in.

There was no room available...

Liked: There was no room available for us when we arrived. The hosts could not find any record of our booking - despite us having exchanged messages when I first made the booking in April. The hosts were extremely apologetic and tried very hard to find us alternative accommodation - not an easy task when they are in such a remote location. We had cycled 30+ miles that day and really did not want to cycle much further.
Disliked: The fact that our room appeared to have been double booked. I had my booking reference, but there was nothing showing on the hosts' system.

What a lovely place.

Liked: Lovely friendly staff, a real family atmosphere. The village is beautiful and had a community feel. Our little dog was made very welcome.
