Pretty outdated. Breakfast was average; elevator as we were going up decided to skip a beat and freak me out, thought I was going to crash.
Liked: Very spacious jacuzzi room.
Disliked: Outdated, and there was water dripping from the ceiling all night and all they did for us was give us $25 off. Wish we could have moved to another room as I didn't get any sleep with hearing that dripping all night.

We were in town to attend a concert at AMSOIL arena, so the hotel was very conveniently located. We knew when we booked that we would have an interior room with no windows but were still a bit surprised by how dark the room was. The lighting was poor and the walls were very thin. We heard our neighbor's alarm go off repeatedly and then his entire phone conversation. The room was fairly large but there was a very large pillar in the middle of it, near the corner of the bed. The room was clean but the decor was very dated. Breakfast was the standard pastries and DIY waffles - not very impressive considering the room cost and ratings. The happy hour at Timber Lodge was a nice touch, if you drink. Considering the number of hotels in Duluth, I'd recommend staying elsewhere.
Liked: Comfortable bed; convenient location.
Disliked: Dark room; no windows; very dated; very thin walls.

Liked: We liked the historic charm of the building. We had a king suite that had a window overlooking the drydocked Irwin. There was a full kitchenette, which was nice, a loveseat, and a seperate bedroom. The air conditioning worked well, the bed was comfortable, and the room was clean. Coffee was available all day. Breakfast was standard fare. The elevators worked well, which is good for a historic site, and required a key to use for security, which we appreciated. The location was great, with Old Chicago Pizza, Red Lobster, and Adventure Zone within a few steps. The lift bridge is at the end of the block and Canal Park is a few blocks away. There aren't views of the lake, but we were able to book one night over July 4, which wasn't available at several of the other Canal Park hotels. We walked to the July 4 concerts and fireworks.
Disliked: The ice machine was out of order with a sign to get ice from the front desk. It would have been nice to know that when we checked in. The lobby and breakfast area did not seem to be air-conditioned and was stuffy.

Liked: Great location, and for a holiday weekend, the price wasn't too bad.
Disliked: The room had not been vacuumed when we arrived, and it would have been nice to have had hand soap in the kitchen area. Otherwise, it was a nice room.

Liked: The front desk staff were helpful. The morning breakfast was yummy. The rooms are unique because it is a historical building converted to suites.
Disliked: The room was not fully turned before our arrival. There was food left in the refrigerator that was not ours. The bathtub drain was not attached, and there was a large hairball in the drain. The living room TV was also unplugged-however we were able to get it working again.
