The Suites Hotel at Waterfront Plaza

Pretty outdated. Breakfast was average; elevator as we were going up decided to skip a beat and freak me out, thought I was going to crash.

Liked: Very spacious jacuzzi room.
Disliked: Outdated, and there was water dripping from the ceiling all night and all they did for us was give us $25 off. Wish we could have moved to another room as I didn't get any sleep with hearing that dripping all night.

We were in town to attend a concert at AMSOIL arena, so the hotel was very conveniently located. We knew when we booked that we would have an interior room with no windows but were still a bit surprised by how dark the room was. The lighting was poor and the walls were very thin. We heard our neighbor's alarm go off repeatedly and then his entire phone conversation. The room was fairly large but there was a very large pillar in the middle of it, near the corner of the bed. The room was clean but the decor was very dated. Breakfast was the standard pastries and DIY waffles - not very impressive considering the room cost and ratings. The happy hour at Timber Lodge was a nice touch, if you drink. Considering the number of hotels in Duluth, I'd recommend staying elsewhere.

Great room, great location. Issues...

Liked: Great location. Our room was gorgeous- had vaulted ceilings, was easy to get around the city.
Disliked: The staff were smoking in the window right in front of our room. We also heard some of the staff arguing outside our door. We also brought the dog (couldn't leave him at home because we didn't have a sitter) but were informed that we were not allowed to leave him in the room (even if he was in his kennel, and was quiet). This was frustrating, as many activities are hard to do with an older dog with health issues. We did find a place to board him, but the "no leaving the dog in the room" policy was not on the Booking website, or on the hotel website. So if I would have known that beforehand, I wouldn't have stayed here.

Liked: Breakfast was ok, somewhat disorganized.
Disliked: Rooms were very dark, some lights weren't even plugged in. Not very clean, smudges on the walls. TV remotes didn't work, one remote only had one battery in it. Room was very overpriced for what we got.

Great customer service

Liked: Front desk staff was super friendly. Give her a raise!
Disliked: Breakfast didn't start till 630 . Because of buisness early we didn't get to have any.

Disliked: Bed was not comfortable.
