Nice place to stay

Liked: The room was small but very comfortable and the bathroom was lovely. Both were very clean and nicely decorated. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.Breakfast was really good too.
Disliked: When we arrived to check in, we had to wait for some time to be seen as the lady on reception was involved in a lengthy call. It happened earlier as we arrived very early and waited an equally long time to ask her if we could leave our car in the car park as we were due to attend a function in Stanwick Lakes at 12.30pm. She was on the phone for ages that time, too. It was not her fault, but she was the only one manning the reception desk, and people were phoning in with queries about rooms and events and it was very busy there as well because there was a large wedding party receptionLater, when we came back, we went into the dining room. We had pre- booked a few days earlier. It was absolutely jam-packed and incredibly noisy , so we had to shout at each other over the noise to make ourselves heard. The service was terrible, again not the staffs fault as it was hectic there. We eventually got to order a drink but waited for some time before it was brought to us. We then waited for someone to take our food order. We waited for so long that we decided to just pay for our drinks and leave as we had seen that it was taking ages to bring the food after the order had been taken. This we did. I would like to stress it was not the fault of the staff. They were simply run off their feet. There were just not enough of them.
