A great place to stay...

Liked: The location in the centre of Jedburgh was wonderful. After a day of hiking on the Borders Abbeys Walk, we were ready to arrive at a comfortable destination. And staying in a hotel that might have the remains of the building where Mary, Queen of Scots, spent time, was a connection with an interesting piece of history of the Scots borderlands.

Liked: I liked how friendly the people were and the room was spacious. We enjoyed the breakfast and my food allergy was easily accommodated
Disliked: The water jets in the shower and tub were absolutely disgusting. They were covered in black and pink mold. It needed a good scrubbing. The mold came off easily when I rubbed it with my finger. I was afraid to take a bath.

An historic hotel, a welcoming...

Liked: Very central location. The hotel is very old, which is part of its charm, but it also could do with a spruce up - it looks a bit tired. However, mine host was very welcoming and so helpful and friendly that the drawbacks of an old and tired building could be overlooked.
Disliked: The decor needed an overhaul, but everything still functioned perfectly - so only a cosmetic issue.
