We Keep Going Back it’s...

Liked: Great rooms and very comfortable. The location is amazing with so much walking in the Forest of Dean on your doorstep. The staff are brilliant (thank you Sarah and reception staff for being so helpful). Breakfasts are superb, restaurants are brilliant, and they are very dog friendly. Good wifi. Visit to restaurant No 3 in Ross on Wye, superb restaurant.
Disliked: Not The Property but for info This whole area is a wifi, telephone signal blank spot. Taxis are hard to get (we used Chippies Taxis who were great but a one man band, however totally reliable.

Value for money

Liked: The property was in a great location. The breakfast included was great and tasty and they provided many options. The room was warm and the heating suffice. The common rooms areas were very lovely and they had comfortable furniture to read books etc.The bed was very comfy and overall the property was very quiet and peaceful. The staff were so friendly and really lovely and helpful.
Disliked: The water went cold in the evening so we couldn’t have a hot bath or shower one night. The room was also quite small and not very well laid out. There was not many space for clothes - only a few hangers. The paint was not great and you could see the ceiling was slightly mouldy in some small areas.

Sadly, it was very disappointing...

Liked: The Property is beautiful and very comfortable however the service in the Orangery restaurant is appalling and we had a very bad experience. We had to wait a long time to order our food. It took ages to come. We could never find the staff who ignored our repeated request for glasses of water , mustard and other items and when we finally left the table to find her and ask her for water she put one glass of water in the middle of the table that is just an example of the level of service we would definitely not recommend eating again in the Orangery otherwise the place is lovely

Liked: Amazing location in the Forest of Dean. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely - loads of choice and all really tasty! Perfect for our family short break, would definitely return.
Disliked: Really nothing… how can you not like a friendly hotel with great breakfast in the middle of a beautiful forest?!!

Liked: Stayed in chalet number 33, parked car literally outside chalet , room was very clean with tea/ coffee making facilities, tv, bathroom had a shower which worked well and not a bath but that was not a problem for us, Short walk to main building, to reception, bars & restaurant, Menu for evening meal had plenty of choices which was all freshly cooked, buffet style breakfast was plentiful with full English or continental, fresh coffee, juices , toast etc you wanted for nothing, All staff were very helpful friendly and informative nothing was too much trouble.Would definitely stay again
Disliked: Although there was a double size standard bed, it would of been nice to have had a king size bed, but that’s the only drawback for us, as we have a king size bed at home.
