Wonderful stopping point in downtown...
Liked: Great nights sleep! Very nice, helpful staff. Wonderful aesthetic. Great location.
Disliked: Little too strong on the hallway scent. Waterbottle filter wasn’t working ( but they had filtered water alternative option).

Millennial Chic in Downtown Boise
Liked: Great location in downtown Boise and walking distance to everything. I stayed with my dog and the room was very accommodating for her as well. Loved the ambiance of the room with minimalist details. I was able to work remotely too without a Zoom-room view of a bed in the background - so great for work travel as well.
Disliked: 1.) Parking is very limited and pricey. 2.) The coffee shop downstairs was painfully sloooooow on service. There are multiple cafes in the area, so my suggestion would be to walk to one of those if you don't want to wait 30 minutes for a coffee or snack.

Friendly vibe, safe as solo...
Liked: Amazingly helpful and friendly staff. Comfy beds, decent size room, big walk in shower, and coffee/tea/fridge amenities in the room. Great location. Steps from coffee, bars, restaurants. Would stay again!

Great experience, clean room and...
Liked: Great location, very comfortable beds, the room was extremely clean. Staff were friendly, all areas of the hotel are clean. Located 4-5 minutes walking to the center. I will stay there again.
Disliked: There is building in construction right in front of the hotel, be aware it will get loud all week, the hotel is doing great and has earplugs available at the check-in desk, if you need.

Disappointing
Liked: The location is why we chose the Sparrow. However, that is where our "what did we like" ends.
Disliked: If Ikea was a hotel this is it! Minimalist in all aspects...the decor, the facilities, the parking, the staff and the service. There's no phones in the room and everything is handled via text. For those that like to text and prefer to avoid human interaction, this is your ideal stay. For those of us that like a concierge and attentive front desk, this is not the place for you. If you want an extra pillow, hairdryer, ironing board or whatever, you must text to get it. The room again is very minimal in what is stocked. The bathroom door is a barn door that provides very little to no privacy. The room had an A/C unit by the window on the far end of the room, with the thermostat at the other end of the room. The A/C blew plenty of cold air, yet it needed to reach clear across the room to trigger the thermostat. At that point, the room was icy cold and it took too long to shut down. We were constantly adjusting the thermostat in order to reach a comfortable temperature in the room. It was either too cold or too hot. Our room backed to the alley behind the property and each morning we were awakened by the trash service of the neighboring businesses behind the hotel. These wakeup calls came every morning at 5:00 to 6:00 a.m. We will not stay at this property again, nor would we recommend.

Recently renovated, well-located, and quietly...
Liked: Stayed here twice during a longer solo trip and The Sparrow quickly became one of the few places I felt I could actually relax. The hotel is recently renovated — very clean, fresh, and well thought through. Rooms are simple, modern, and have a quiet sense of place that reflects Idaho without trying too hard. Location is excellent: close to downtown, the Greenbelt, food spots, but still calm. Free on-site parking is a plus, though it can fill up at peak times. There’s no full breakfast, but the café in the lobby has coffee and light bites and the food truck parked just outside offers great casual options. What stood out most was the reception team — calm, grounded, helpful and quietly observant in a way that’s hard to fake. There’s a kind of stillness in this place and they’re a big reason for it.
Disliked: Rooms facing the alley can pick up early morning noise from garbage and glass collection. Not ideal for very light sleepers, but a small thing in an otherwise excellent stay.

Superb
Disliked: All good except the air conditioner in the room was like sharing the space with a jet engine. Really loud.

Exceptional
Liked: The location was wonderful and the hotel had every amenity. I was looking for a short stay.
Disliked: The room could use better lighting. It was either too much or too little.
