The Spotlight on The Sono Chicago

Stylish Comfort in the Heart of Old Town

The Sono Chicago is a modern, boutique-style hotel nestled in Chicago’s charming Old Town neighborhood. With a clean, minimalist design and welcoming vibe, it's a peaceful retreat just minutes from the city's iconic attractions and music venues. Located only 0.7 miles from Lincoln Park Zoo and 1.2 miles from the Magnificent Mile, you're close to everything—yet far enough to unwind.

Guests enjoy free parking with a permit, and every room comes with a flat-screen TV with premium cable and a private bathroom featuring a spacious shower. A complimentary continental breakfast makes mornings easy, especially after a late night out.

Why Concert-goers love it

If you're heading to a show, The Sono Chicago puts you in a prime location. You're a quick rideshare or transit hop from major concert venues while staying in a quiet, residential area—perfect for post-show relaxation. The flexible check-in at 15:00 and check-out at 11:00 also gives you time to rest and recharge. Free parking is a huge perk if you're driving in for a gig.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for easy access to nightlife and events
  • Solo travelers catching a bucket-list performance
  • Couples making a weekend of it with nearby attractions
  • Fans who want a quieter, laid-back place to recover post-show
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who value free perks like breakfast and parking

Food and Drink Options

While The Sono Chicago doesn’t have an on-site restaurant, the free daily continental breakfast is a nice touch before heading out. Old Town’s vibrant dining scene is just blocks away, offering everything from late-night bites to upscale eats. Whether you’re craving deep-dish pizza or craft cocktails, you’ll find it within walking distance.

Nightlife Options

Old Town is known for its lively yet relaxed nightlife. You’re near legendary comedy clubs, cozy wine bars, and local taverns with great beer selections. While there’s no on-site bar, the area offers plenty of post-show spots to keep the night going—or wind it down.

What People Say

Reviews frequently praise the hotel’s cleanliness, quiet atmosphere, and friendly staff. Guests love the neighborhood feel and how close it is to everything without being in the thick of noisy downtown. The free parking and comfortable beds also get consistent shout-outs.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests mention the hotel is more of a bed-and-breakfast vibe than a full-service hotel—so if you're expecting a concierge or bar, plan accordingly. Also, there’s no elevator, so those with mobility issues should request a lower floor.

The Bottom Line

If you're looking for a stylish, peaceful place to crash after a show—without straying too far from the action—The Sono Chicago hits the right note.

Great spot in Chicago to...

Liked: The B&B is very pretty and well kept. While other couples and families were clearly coming and going we didn't feel disturbed or underfoot. The staff was very courteous and kind. The breakfast was good and staff was there to keep things turning and dishes collected. Parking was on the street but they gave us an overnight pass and the neighborhood is busy but finding a space wasn't terribly difficult. The room was clean and modern, and was cool on an unseasonably warm day. The rooftop sitting area and rear patio were also very nice.
Disliked: The only small complaint I have is that we received a text the day of check-in asking for an exact time of arrival. When I said I wasn't sure but it would be between their normal check-in hours and in the afternoon, I was asked pointedly for an exact time. Upon arrival staff was there to meet me and give me keys so I take it they are not there all the time and didn't want to have to wait around but a note in booking details specifying this would have been nice.

A great pace to stay...

Liked: The continental breakfast was a nice touch, as was the common seating space indoors/outdoors. The location was great. It was walkable to Old Town and Lincoln Park. The price was great.
