I’ve stayed in older hotels which were great. It comes down to care and maintenance.

Liked: Nothing.
Disliked: Old and dated.

Liked: We were in town to attend an event at Sewanee. The hotel is really nearby and super quiet. As a bonus, there is a Waffle House right across the street! We did not eat at the restaurant because our food was covered at the university. Very nice, family run place.

Liked: The lodge was absolutely adorable. The staff was very welcoming. Will be back again.
Disliked: Mattress was a little hard and uncomfortable.

Liked: It was very convenient to Sewanee and right off the I-24 interstate.
Disliked: They have renovated the rooms but have put in laminate flooring which makes it extremely nosy when you are in a downstairs room and hear clomping around from the upstairs room! They did not provide any hangers for coats or clothing items. The blinds did not close well and they do not have curtains.
