Liked: The food in the restaurant was delicious and far exceeded my expectations. The room was very comfortable, spacious, and beautifully furnished. The staff were lovely, friendly and very helpful.
Disliked: I noticed a few in the bathroom that could be improved on, but honestly fairly minor. The bathroom mirror light didn't work when I switched it on, the towel rack was a bit of a hazard due to its proximity to the shower entrance (there was no thermostat to control it and I scorched myself a couple of times when getting in & out of the shower which wasn't fun).

Comfortable and quiet

Liked: This was my second stay at the Slate. I was travelling alone, and feel safe and relaxed here. It's a friendly, comfortable place to stay. I had the small double and it's cute, clean and has all you need.
Disliked: If I had to find a negative, which is hard as it's such a nice place - is the toiletries provided are little sachets of shower gel and shampoo. It's not a big deal as I tend to bring my own.

Disliked: Unfortunately the kitchen wasn't open on the night we stayed (a Monday) so we had to drive out for food - although there was a curry night offering at the hotel it wasn't something we wanted
