The Spotlight on The Slate Denver Tapestry Collection By Hilton

Historic Charm Meets Modern Comfort in Downtown Denver

Modern and stylish with a nod to Denver’s educational past, The Slate Denver Tapestry Collection By Hilton is located in the heart of downtown—making it a smart pick for concert-goers. Housed in a former school building, this hotel blends industrial-chic design with contemporary comforts. You're just a short stroll from some of Denver’s biggest music venues, plus the Colorado Convention Center and Union Station.

Rooms are sleek and comfortable, offering air-conditioning, free WiFi, and flat-screen TVs, with thoughtful touches like workspaces and complimentary toiletries. Guests can also enjoy a fitness center, a rooftop-style terrace, and excellent on-site dining. With a 24-hour front desk, room service, and private parking, it’s a seamless base for your music-fueled stay in the city.

Why Concert-goers love it

Set just blocks from major venues like the Pepsi Center and Bellco Theatre, this hotel is ideal if you want to skip the post-show commute. The area is walkable and well-lit, with public transit and ride-shares easy to access late into the night. After the show, the hotel’s terrace and cozy bar offer a low-key spot to unwind. Plus, the 24-hour front desk and convenient check-in from 4:00 PM make your arrival stress-free, even if you're coming in after a long day of travel.

Who this Hotel is great for

- Groups of friends looking for a central spot to crash
- Solo travelers catching a once-in-a-lifetime performance
- Couples planning a stylish weekend getaway
- Fans who prefer a quieter, comfortable vibe after the encore
- Budget-conscious music lovers wanting solid value in a prime location

Food and Drink Options

The Slate’s on-site restaurant serves up American cuisine with options for vegetarians, vegans, and gluten-free diners—perfect for grabbing a bite before or after a show. There’s also a bar for pre-show cocktails or a nightcap. Breakfast is available in the morning if you’ve had a late night, and room service is ready when you’re too tired to head out.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel itself offers a relaxed bar scene, you’re just minutes from Denver’s buzzing nightlife. Local bars, lounges, and live music spots surround the area, giving you plenty of options to continue the night’s rhythm. Whether you're into craft cocktails or casual dives, you’re covered.

What People Say

Guests rave about the hotel's unique design and central location, praising how easy it is to walk to shows or grab a quick Uber. The staff earns high marks for being friendly and helpful, and the rooms are noted for being exceptionally clean and comfortable. The overall vibe is modern yet welcoming—great for winding down after a concert.

Areas for Improvement

Some reviews mention that parking can be a bit pricey, and while the vibe is laid-back, it’s not a party hotel—so don’t expect wild pre-game energy in the lobby. Breakfast service can be a little slow during busy weekends, so plan ahead if you’re on a tight schedule.

The Bottom Line

If you're looking for a stylish, centrally located hotel that makes concert nights easy and comfortable, The Slate Denver Tapestry Collection By Hilton hits all the right notes.

Very cool hotel in the...

Liked: The location was perfect for work. Rooms were on the small side but comfortable and we had a room on a courtyard, which made it very quiet. Walking distance to restaurants, the state capitol, and so forth. Very convenient.
Disliked: No parking at all, unless you pay for valet parking or use a pay lot, both of which are very expensive. The front desk struggled with my tax-free work credit card and this ended up being the first time I have had to fill out two pages of paperwork to have the tax-free status recorded. Smaller, less expensive hotels have just taken the tax number off the back, so that was frustrating.

Loved it overall - and...

Liked: Dinner at the bar/restaurant was excellent; staff very helpful; everything was super clean.
Disliked: There were some design features that could be more thoughtful - having to step on a stool to reach the chain to pull up and down the room darkening shade was kind of an issue; the bright blue temperature light on the mini-fridge made a dark sleep room impossible; the shower head/hand wand position was far too high for a short person; it was better suited for taller individuals. These are not major things, but given the rest of great things this hotel has to offer, it would make the experience that much better.
