Disappointing

Liked: All staff were nice and friendly answering any questions we had about the city and transport
Disliked: We arrived on a evening flight so quickly checked in and headed out again. As we were planning the followings day’s activities after we arrived back to the hotel, as we were searching for a pen we opened the drawer and to our horror we were met with drugs and tobacco from a previous tenant. We couldn’t believe it as this as the hotel is marketed as family friendly and we thought that when cleaning, opening the drawers and emptying contents was a pretty standard procedure. Although this was bad we were going to leave it until morning as it was getting late and there seemed to not be anyone at reception as we entered the hotel. But then I sat down and while reflecting on what we just found we were astonished to discover my bed sheet was peeling (both discoveries can be seen as attached)Upon noticing that we decided we could not sleep in that room so went down to reception to request a resolution. The girl we were met with was lovely but issued us quite insincere apology and informed us that we could change rooms from the dreaded 307 to a not much better 208 for the night but however informed us that we had to pack up all our things again and return to the room the following night(after landing down to reception with our bags we were told that we never had to change back in the first place meaning we had packed and unpacked for the third time in the space of 24 hours) We were just happy to get a new room at that point.Upon entering 207, we took a deeper look into the room to see that it was only half clean and that’s being generous. Some of the issues we found were:* no remote for the TV* dirty/stained towel* Carpet clearly not hoovered* Dirty ironing board* There is copious amounts of dusk on the headboard and various other itemsWe were very shocked to discover that the room wasn’t up to standard considering the member of staff that accommodated our room change went up there to check the room to ensure that it was free.

Liked: Great location. Very friendly and helpful staff throughout the stay. Large clean room, comfy bed.Breakfast area was very clean, breakfast was tasty and had a good choice.Fantastic value for money.I would highly recommend and definitely stay again.
Disliked: No negatives at all .
